Trimwise 24 Hour Cycle Completed

Hard Work But Great Times!

Started:            Noon Saturday December 1st 2012
Finished:          Noon Sunday December 2nd 2012
Where:             Trimwise Gym, Bridgwater, Somerset

Huge respect!   Awesome effort from all involved.

For 24 hours, dozens of members from Bridgwater's Trimwise gym joined four teams from their Fit And Trim Club to keep the wheels of spin cycles spinning non-stop, all in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

We won't know the final total of money raised for a number of days but there's still time to get involved and help fund Breakthrough's world class research centres:
TRIMWISE BRIDGWATER JUST GIVING PAGE

It really was a great event with friends and supporters dropping in to join in the fun and keep spirits high. As well as having a range of Breakthrough literature on show, with Julies Legacy and TLC leaflets available, the TRIMWISE 2013 NAKED CALENDAR was also on sale - proving very popular indeed!

Sneak peek

The cycle challenge came about when the gym's weight loss group wanted to show and celebrate the health benefits of exercise and healthy eating, and a full day spinning seemed like a good idea at the time.

Each team had a spin bike that a member was cycling at all times, in various time slots, all under the watchful eyes of several instructors throughout the 24 hours. There were eight other bikes in use most of the time... apart from the two bikes that were broken overnight of course!

To complement the fundraising, the four teams sported Breakthrough awareness names:

Team 'TOUCH' was captained by Kate Henstridge
Team 'LOOK' was commanded by Melanie Bicknell
Team 'CHECK' was inspired by Laura Lee Parker
Team 'AWARE' was marshalled by Hayley Dhaliwal

Team Captains

Details of hours cycled and names of all who took part are not yet available but all of us at Breakthrough Breast Cancer Somerset Group would like to thank everyone who eased into a saddle and made this event possible. It is only with the help of people like yourselves up and down the country that we are able to work towards our goal - a future free from the fear of breast cancer.

Thank you all.

Here's a rather large amount of pics from various stages of the cycle challenge, along with a video of the FINAL COUNTDOWN - thanks for reading and enjoy!

Trimwise 24 Hour Cycle Challenge

Spinning!

Start:           Noon Saturday December 1st 2012
Finish:          Noon Sunday December 2nd 2012
Where:        Trimwise Gym, Bridgwater, Somerset

They're at it again, raising money and awareness for Breakthrough, although this time with their clothes on (cheeky reference to NAKED CALENDAR).

At midday on December 1st, four teams from Bridgwater's Trimwise gym will be attempting to keep spin bikes moving non-stop for 24 hours.

The gym's weight loss group wanted to show and celebrate the health benefits of exercise and healthy eating, and a full day's spin session seemed like a good idea at the time!

Each team will have a spin bike that a member has to be cycling at all times, in time slots starting from 30 minutes.

There will be eight other bikes available for impatient team members to join in the fun while waiting their turn, all under the watchful eyes of several instructors throughout the 24 hours.

It will be an open event where members of the public can come and support the teams, but the doors will be locked from 8pm on Saturday and will re-open to the public at 8am on Sunday morning.

Team members are currently armed with Breakthrough sponsorship forms, but here's a JUST GIVING if you want to join in on-line.

To complement the fundraising, the four teams are sporting Breakthrough awareness names:

Team 'TOUCH' will be captained by Kate Henstridge

Team 'LOOK' will be commanded by Melanie Bicknell

Team 'CHECK' will be inspired by Laura Lee Parker

Team 'AWARE' will marshalled by Hayley Dhailiwal

There will also be TLC and breast cancer awareness literature available, along with Julies Legacy leaflets, pin badges and balloons (always need balloons!).

Thanks for reading and good luck to all involved!

Naked Calendar Sneak Peek

Balloon Boys

Well, they did it!  Here they are in (almost) all their glory!

Banner Babes

Despite plenty of nerves, these adventurous folk from Bridgwater's Trimwise Gym slipped off their robes and posed for a series of fun & artistic pictures that could soon adorn an office wall near you.

Rumours of a steamed up camera lens are unconfirmed, however the ladies have assured us the temperature at the photoshoot was perfectly warm, regardless of what the gents may have you believe.

Banks of printers are currently beeping and whirring around the clock in an effort to keep up with the expected demand, but don't leave it too late otherwise you risk dissapointment.

For just £5, not only will you have easy access to useful 2013 date information, but also handy reminders of what ordinary men and women can achieve through healthy eating, regular exercise and a little willpower.... oh, and maybe a few balloons!

So if you've not yet organised your calendar for next year, or you know a few friends who may appreciate something other than socks & chocs, then please contact Sammy or Becky on 01278 727990, email keepfit@trimwisefitness.co.uk or just pop along to the gym to say hi and grab a couple of this year's most wanted stocking filler!

In all seriousness though, everyone at the Somerset group has huge admiration for the Trimwise team and their willingness to flash the flesh to raise money for and awareness for Breakthrough. It is only through the amazing efforts of such supporters that Breakthrough can conduct the world class research needed to achieve the goal of a future free from the fear of breast cancer.

Thankyou!
