Spinning! |
Start: Noon Saturday December 1st 2012
Finish: Noon Sunday December 2nd 2012
Where: Trimwise Gym, Bridgwater, Somerset
They're at it again, raising money and awareness for Breakthrough, although this time with their clothes on (cheeky reference to NAKED CALENDAR).
At midday on December 1st, four teams from Bridgwater's Trimwise gym will be attempting to keep spin bikes moving non-stop for 24 hours.
The gym's weight loss group wanted to show and celebrate the health benefits of exercise and healthy eating, and a full day's spin session seemed like a good idea at the time!
Each team will have a spin bike that a member has to be cycling at all times, in time slots starting from 30 minutes.
There will be eight other bikes available for impatient team members to join in the fun while waiting their turn, all under the watchful eyes of several instructors throughout the 24 hours.
It will be an open event where members of the public can come and support the teams, but the doors will be locked from 8pm on Saturday and will re-open to the public at 8am on Sunday morning.
Team members are currently armed with Breakthrough sponsorship forms, but here's a JUST GIVING if you want to join in on-line.
To complement the fundraising, the four teams are sporting Breakthrough awareness names:
Team 'TOUCH' will be captained by Kate Henstridge
Team 'LOOK' will be commanded by Melanie Bicknell
Team 'CHECK' will be inspired by Laura Lee Parker
Team 'AWARE' will marshalled by Hayley Dhailiwal
There will also be TLC and breast cancer awareness literature available, along with Julies Legacy leaflets, pin badges and balloons (always need balloons!).
Thanks for reading and good luck to all involved!
